Episode 2: Shenzhen
As the earlist experimental zone of economic reform in China, Shenzhen showed its courage by made breakthroughs. It was the first city in the nation to establish the joint-ventured company; It was the first to launch the land auction system; and the first to lead by the slogan "Time is money, and efficiency is life".
Shenzhen Stock Exchange, one of the two exchanges on Chinese mainland was established in the late 1990s. The Shenzhen stock market can trace its history to as early as 1986. At that time, some companies began to operate as joint-stocked form companies.
