Now let’s turn to Lanzhou city in Northwest China’s Gansu Province, where 5 workers have been trapped for more than 48 hours after a new railway tunnel being built collapsed. It is part of a new line connecting Lanzhou city to Chongqing Municipality.

Rescuers have opened up an air vent and have been able to pass food and water to the trapped workers. Rescue work has been hindered due to the complexity of the geology.

The workers are now stable both mentally and physically. Five ambulances are standing by. Rescuers are hoping to reach them later today.
