South Korea’s Defence Ministry says the DPRK could possibly detonate a "boosted fission weapon." The speech comes as international tension runs high over a possible nuclear test, thought to be 'imminent’, after the DPRK’s latest rocket launch.
Kim Min-Seok, defence ministry sopkesman, said:"We believe the North Korea has already conducted two previous tests using plutonium as fissile material, so there’s a possibility that it could test a boosted fission weapon this time. It’s possible to test a boosted fission bomb if tritium or heavy hydrogen is added to plutonium, which creates bigger explosions.
