The 2015 World Athletics Championships has opened in Beijing and Chinese President Xi Jinping made the official declaration at opening ceremony in the "Bird's Nest" National Stadium. The championships are the largest event held at the stadium since the 2008 Olympics seven years ago. And the ticker-tape and spectacular will be back at the stadium in seven years time for the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics. The championships will run through for nine days until August 30.
